sata2?

might be a stupid question so apologies! but i havent been keeping upto date on pc stuff for a while now. mainly due to lack of money and time, but would sata2 drives work on the standard sata ports? im after a 300gb hard drive, preferably with 16mb cache.

As far as I know a SATA II drive will work on a SATA I controller and vice versa.

Yup, works fine - more info in my sticky. Just if you need more info - don't forget that some SATA-II drives require the use of a jumper to work on a SATA1 port.
