Sata3 Anyideas

Holding off why?

There isnt any benefit unless you are using multiple SSD drives, and even then, you are looking at mega high end stuff.
Doubtful that mechanical drives will even reach SATA-II speeds never mind over that.

Or is it just the motherboard that you want SATA 6Gb/s?
Anyway, there isnt such a thing as SATA 3. Its referred to as SATA 6Gb/s. Due to the confusion of SATA-II, SATA 2 etc.

It'll be here as early as the second half of the year, if the guestimates and leaks are accurate.

But like PhillyDee said, there's not a huge amount of point in it yet for most people.

EDIT: Q4, to be more specific, although apparently some of the other chips might be launching earlier.

ocz vertex2 will require sata3 board to get full speed, sata2 will be maxed out and wouldnt give you full performance.

anyone in no rush for an upgrade should wait as sata3 and usb3 will be out towards the end of this year. no point buying pci-e brackets with those on when you can get them built in new motherboards.
