Hi ppl.

Just a quick question about something that caught my in speccy. Its currently reporting my SSD is running at sata2 speeds of 3Gb/s.

I didn't think this would be something I would need to set or change? the SSD is sata3, the motherboard is sata3 and I'm using the sata3 cable that came with it.

Is this just a false report or is this maybe a setting in bios I have missed?

Regards

It may be reporting it as SATA 2 but it's working at SATA 3 speeds.

SATA 2 would peak at around 275MB/s and you're getting nearly 500MB/s for sequential writes.

It looks like a software glitch.

You could try installing Intel RST so that you're using the Intel driver instead of the generic Microsoft one.

Version 10.8.0.1003 here (the 6.89MB file)

Version: 11.2.0.1006 here (the 12.35MB file)

The newer version 11 is designed specifically for Intel motherboards.

It may install on non-Intel boards or it may not.
