I have a old Sky Mini dish on my new house. With all the hoopla about Freesat and CH4 + 5 going FTA I was considering using the satellite to watch TV. The only thing is I want PVR capabilities.

What is the best + cheapest way of doing this?

Ive seen Topfield Satellite PVR's but was looking to bung a card in a pc and use that as I assume it will be cheaper.

Anyone doing something similar?

EDIT - just to note Im not bothered about any HD content.
EDIT 2 - reading up it seems best to wait a bit until Freesat has settled before investing in anything.

Any DVB-S card and a suitable software PVR package would do - most software PVR/Mediacentre type applications will work - but do check, Windows MCE doesn't entirely work right, but i think it can be hacked into working.

I saw a BlackGold card not so long ago which had dual analog, dual DVB-T and dual DVB-S all on one card which also had windows mediacentre compatibility for around £100. But a single DVB-S card can be had for a lot less.
