I gave up before Aluminium on my first playthrough. Just reached it this time - but first: time to rebuild my storage hub and roll out railways...
 
Having issues with water at the moment I've got 8 coal power plants with 3 water extractors 1 is connecter between plant 4 and 5 and 1 connected between plants 1 and 2 and last 1 is connected between 7 and 8 with pumps and waters getting to the plant just not holding enough

Hook up two of the extractors together and feed them into a single pipe. Connect one of the two pipes you have now towards one end of the powerplants and the other towards the other end. Then run a pipe round the back of the powerplants connecting the whole thing into a loop - add a valve (or an unpowered pump) round the back if you want to be sure.

Cheers I'll give that a go on the next 2 plants I've got planned think I've sussed it looks like the holes in the floor were bugged or something since I've took them out and ran 3 straight pipes and clipped the foundations over the pipes all 8 plants now running stable
 
That’s basically the set up I use as I’ve always found the pipe setup I’m using in post 723. With all 8 coal generators connected to one pipe with pump 1 aligned to generator 2, pump 2 connected between generators 4&5 and pump 3 aligned to generator 7.

Though pipes can be buggy so I always let them fill up fully before turning on any machines.

Also, yes the floor holes for pipes were and seem to still be buggy with the pipe not actually connecting through them. I think most people, me included, just clip the pipe through the floor.

2 water per extrac per 3 coal plant is easier, add another 1 water
 
Is it a problem when you dream about a game then remember that dream as you awake and then jump into the game to fix that goddam flow problem because now everything is clear, like hallelujah and eureka had a party?

You mean putting them on Autopilot? Yeah, I have. They work well enough if you run them on sensible roads, at least while you're not watching them, but it's still a complete pain to set up because you have to drive the routes yourself. Also they're not bright when it comes to deciding when to stop and how to resolve conflicts.
 
So what is this game mainly about doing as i got it in a humble bundle but never redeemed it incase i wanted to give it to a mate or somit, but seems popular but wonder if id like it. Whats the good and bad about it so far if i may ask. I know i could utube stuff but prefer some real users replies if its ok.

its essentially a factory automation game.
there is a story to it but i havent checked onthat recently.
land on planet, build a base to make products, that makes more products, expand your start location, find recourses on map ad pipe them in to your base for production. work through a tech tier list to get to teir 9.

Build massive factory complexes, ravage and destroy a planet, upset Greta Thumbugs in the process. Its awesome fun.
 
Like Factorio, its one of those games that really shouldnt be fun when its described to you, then you play it and look up at your clock and find out that its suddenly dawn.....on a Tuesday.......4 weeks later. :)
 
Just unlocked oil yesterday had a bit of a look on the west coast to start the oil factory

Also need to reorganise my starting base as it's just now a mess unlocked t4 belts so that should help a bit
