satnav drama and state of roads again.

Wait you were using the built in sat nav? I thought everyone these days used either Google maps or *shudders* Apple maps. I'm not sure I'd ever use a car manufacturer for mapping software. Let them focus on the car, and then trust a company that actually specialises in mapping software.
yep i was..... i am still working on android auto. my phone says auto is enabled and connected, my car sees the phone but i dont get a option of android auto. one for another day.

all that said.............. whilst my 2012 nissan QQ maps ended up a little out of date, in 8 years of owning (and 1 map update in 2020) the satnav never let me down.

I use the built in BMW one.

Many years ago when I was still a teen (just) my mate and I used to take his little old Ford Fiesta down these types of roads at night and drive them with just hazards on. Now I try to avoid them even at high noon!

LOL you were not from cheshire were you? i used to do exactly the same thing.... bloody idiotic.. I also had armwrestles over the roof of the car on the back seat date on the door with the window open whilst the driver was doing it. (i wasnt arm wrestling the driver, that would be irresponsible :D

does not bear thinking about how stupid it was, could have gone wrong 101 ways and i hope to god my lad has more sense

Are you sure your head unit even supports Android Auto. As soon as I connect my Android phone to the USB port in my car it asks me if I want to start Android Auto, well it says screen mirroring but by that it means Android Auto.

If I connect my iPhone to the USB port nothing happens, I know my head unit only supports Android Auto and not CarPlay and that is why.
