Since my Garmin died recently I've gotten Cygic's Mobile Maps 9 on my HTC Magic and have to say it's got very clear and precise voice guidance!

Yes it does speak junction/exit/a/b road names etc.

I don't bother with fancy pants logos and voices, I just want nav with good features like being able to set notifications for getting close to POI "x" etc.

Android apps are cross compatible

My phone is running 1.6 (Donut) but with 2.0.1/2.1 (Eclair) guts and features.

Btw Cygic is available for Maemo, iPhone, WinMo etc too.

Used to have John Cleese on my old phone with TomTom but my Motorola Droid has text to speech so just some random computer voice. Or mute, normally

Mine says "erd" for 'Rd.' and "ayve" for 'Ave.'
