Ok so saturday is finally arriving, and the hatton vs mayweather fight is booked and ready!

Khan is also fighting the same day at around 6pm i believe? Does anyone know if this is going to be on TV? If so what channel?

Had people coming round for about 8pm for pre fight drinks but if khan is shown on TV obviously the drinks can start sooner!!

Thanks

i'm pretty sure its on ITV1. Whilst we're on the subject of boxing does anyone have any info on the timings for the hatton fight? undercard start time etc I've read start times of Hatton from 1am to 4am!!!! trying to organise people to come round

Might as well make this the main thread for the weekends boxing then.

Khan is live on ITV and Ricky on Sky, which should kick off between 4 and 5 in the morning, very early I agree, but it's a massive fight, so no excuses, pay yer dosh, grab 40 winks and after Amir defeats Earl, which won't be easy, wake up for the overseas bouts.

I'm getting a bit nervous already and by the time Ricky comes out to fight, I'll be buzzing and if he actually wins, the neighbours better be ready for this fat git shouting at the top of his voice in celebration!!!!

Anyone else think British pride is showing through in a lot of people, hatton is a good fighter but MW is as good if not better, many times I have been disappointed with Hattons bulldog style fighting, hit grab get a breather.

I have £10 on Earl and £30 on hatton.

Earl has been on the big stage and done well enough times. His losee to Ricky burns was a great fight. Burns is a tall lanky fighter with a great jab. Amir has focussed on power lately and Earl has taken some grat shots. I think he wwill catch up to Khan in rounds 6/7 onwards. Iv watched khan for the past 8 years and seen him get up from the floor to win back in the amatures but while i was watching khan in the small hall shows Earl was doing all the right things in the pros so hense my money being on him!

After watching the 24/7 shows im more confident in Hatton although i do feel mayweather is the best boxer in the world and i love his style (any boxer who doesnt get hit much is someone i would like to box like as my last win had me coming out with two black eyes and swollen nose for a week!)

Sport is always better with money on it. I think mayweather may win on points but iv routed for hatton since his 2nd pro fight and went too see a few of his early bouts and wont stop now.

will be somewhere between 3.30 and 4.45 ( the latter part being more likely )

I can usually predict fights but on this one I have no idea.

If Hatton has the reach and can punch through Mayweathers guard then he could do it. If he can't then Mayweather will no doubt pick him apart.

It's skill vs power whichever prevails.

Punching through the guard wont do much of anything. The force is removed by the initial impact. Plus PBF doesnt stand up straight at anypoint. He uses an excellent guard that protects his left side and stomach and a genious shoulder roll to protect his right side.

Its going to come dowm to weather mayweather can move off the ropes without getting caught.

For hatton its going to be can he bully floyd without getting cut open from his quick and accurate slicing shots.

MW has all right to be agreeved. Hes only had a few pay per view fights. The american writers critise him despite saying hes the best boxer in the world. The american public hate his style. He doesnt get the respect he deserves for the people he's beat.

No wonder hes annoyed. I think he took on the heal role to just make money. He knows the public will never get nehind him so whats the next best thing. Make people pay to hop he gets beat.

There is a lot of time to kill between the Khan fight and that Hatton fight, do i drink and then sleep and wake up and drink, or do i power through. I'm feeling the power through may have to get on the vodka and red bulls (no im not a homosexual!) just need to stay awake. Don't want to pass out and miss the fight ha ha!

Not sure if everyone has seen this or if it has been posted but here is Hatton slating Mayweather in Manchester! (there is swearing)

then we won't be posting it, will we ?

Crap, convinced my mate to book the PPV Hatton fight, but once he realised he'd have to stay up till 4-5am he canceled it :(

Hatton cannot beat floyd at this weight with 10 ounce gloves he doesn't have the power, the callazo fight is a good pointer to see how this fight will go i predict a cuts stoppage late on floyd winning.
As much as i dislike PBF he is a great boxer with genuine world class skills.

You cant take the collazo fight as gospel. He had less than half the time for a camp tro make it to that weight and admitted to billy graham he has a fair few takeaways in the buildup.

Collazo is also a southpaw, a lot trickier (less textbook) and a natural welterweight. Floyd is orthodox, more traditionally styled (albeit the best technical boxer in the world) and a lot smaller than collazo was. Remember collazo cuts weight to get to welterweight. Floyd walks around on the limit at all times.

I can see floyd getting a cuts stoppage but hatton will not be the same fighter as against collazo. Hes had goos sparing, a full camp, full time nutritionist prepairing his food and keeping an eye on him, and he will be on weight days before.

10oz gloves still hurt a lot. Hatton will probably wear Rayes which are a punchers glove (densely packed) whereas flloyd will wear Grant as they protect his hands better. Getting hit with different types of gloves weighing ten oz really does feel different depending on the make and how they are constructed
