Saucepans... Discuss !

Can you use metal potato mashers in the non stick ones?

I've never really had anything stick to a saucepan before anyway, so not sure it's a good idea. I am also looking for a new set though.

Circulon pans certainly seem tough. My circulon frying pan is ten years old and still works fine and I never use plastic utensils so I'm guessing the sauce pans should stand up well too.

I personally wouldn't. Why spend £40-60 on a pan and mark it with a metal masher. I have a plastic masher for my non stick but it's fairly rubbish. So I just bought a pan from aldi for about 3p that I use for mash.

ive got some anolon pro ones, they are indestructible

+2! I bought a spare of one we use every day with the view of replacing it after a few years. 8 years later and it is perfect (and I'm ashamed to say we put it in the dish washer as well!)

Just bought a large Judge stockpot for batch cooking as I tend to run out in my 4L anolon. It was really good price so we'll see how it goes but feels good quality for £30!

Billion? too far may be but why anyone wouldn't buy a ricer is beyond me. Night and day difference to my mash.

As to pans I have stellar ones which are good all rounders and a couple of le creuset.

I have one, sometimes I prefer the inconsistency of using a masher. My Mrs certainly prefers a masher to riced. Plus it quicker than doing a few at a time.

I just use a large stainless steel pan for spuds / veggies / whatever. My pans are anything but a matched set :D
