Not all kids are vicious. I could never imagine any of my brothers doing that. Ever. You are generalising all children with that statement. Yes, they all have the capacity to do such things just like we (adults) have the capacity, doesn't mean we all go around doing it. It's not in most people's nature to do stuff like that.

As I said before, by removing one of the main deterrants (kids fear of authority) you allow the worst elements to become far worse (as in the case).

Though what surprises me is how shocked everyone is when something like this happens. Look at what our society has become thanks to pc/human rights/nanny state, isn't it obvious kids will turn out this way?

I'd deserve it no doubt but if I handled the situation correctly, I wouldn't get a beating in return

For the record, I probably wouldn't even get involved in the situation unless it was personal (family and friends).

I agree. But the removal of authority will not affect all kids in the same manner, you may see the vicious blighters getting worse and the quieter kids possibly getting even quieter as there is no authority there to protect them anymore from the vicious kids.

I completely agree with your post. I'm not shocked by this anymore, but it will never stop me from being angry that it was allowed to happen. Schools will soon have to enforce monitored supervision of kids at all times during school hours.
