Save Outlook Express emails to Outlook - Help Please

I have just finished my new system and im having a problem with Outlook.
I saved all my email files with the Windows 7 file transfer tool. Unfortunately this operation failed. I had also saved all my inbox emails by dragging & dropping into a folder which I have on a spare drive. Outlook won't recognise them and I dont seem to be able to import them from the folder. Can anyone offer help please

Have you tried dragging the emails in the folder into your Outlook Inbox?

How about setting up Outlook Express on your new PC, dragging the emails there, then export them as a .pst [which Outlook will recognise].

Yes, tried dragging in but doesn't work sadly. Can you still get outlook express then? Where could I get a copy of it, any idea's? Thanks.

The Windows 7 equiv is called Winows Mail or Windows Live Mail.

to get to outlook from outlook express

import the dbx files in to live mail

and then import the live mail in to your outlook

Unfortunately they are .eml files as the dbx save failed and I only have the .eml files from an earlier save.

Drag and drop them into Windows Mail or Live Mail and import into Outlook.
