Save the treehouse!

Anybody else seen this on the local news?

A group of uni students in Norfolk have built a really cool treehouse on private land from recyclable materials. The treehouse is built with permission on one of the groups parents land, as far as I can tell it is fairly remote and is of no inconvenience to anyone.

The treehouse has complete double glazing, a balcony and impressively is made completely from scrap goods that nobody wanted.

The local council received an anonymous complaint and are now threatening to have it pulled down if retrospective planning permission is not applied for and granted.

This just seems typical of local council, nit picking and interfering when there is a lot more constructive things they could be doing.

These lads should be commended for showing ingenuity!

If someone complained, then the council have to look into it, it's really daft, but you really have to blame the anonymous **** stirrer.

I agree with you. It's just the fact that it is on private land and in the middle of nowhere, just seems a bit crappy!

I was gonna stay undecided as the complainer did say it loverlooked his property, but from the ITV video, it looks in the middle of nowhere and no houses for hundreds of metres.

its a pretty impressive tree-house.

the fussy council i suppose have to look into every complaint made even if its the daftest complaint ever. but as JIM_BOB7813 id blame the anonymous complainer.

hope the petition has some effect, it would be stupid to pull it down over 1 anonymous complaint, as it is in the middle of no where

It's great and kids/youth should be encouraged to do things like this!
Obviously it needs to be checked by structural engineers to verify that its structurally sound and safe as I would hate for any of these creative and dedicated souls to be hurt in an accident.
But once it's been confirmed safe or advised how to make it safe then these kids/youth should be left alone to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Unless the person who complained was genuinely concerned for their safety then I think they should get a life and mind their own business tbh.
