What about a bundle with the X1900XT instead of the X1900XTX?

If I understand crossfire correctly the slave card will run at the speed of the master card. As the master card is clocked to the same speeds as the X1900XT isn't the X1900XTX wasted?

No not true.

A X1900 crossfire master card & X1900XTX will be ever so slightly faster than a X1900 crossfire master card & X1900XT. The cards do not downclock, the faster card will simply do more work.

See here .. http://www.ati.com/technology/crossfire/faq.html

Q7. What happens when your CrossFire Edition card and and a compatible standard Radeon (CrossFire Ready) graphics card have different clock speeds?

A. Both cards will continue to operate at their individual clock speeds.

Ok Gibbo where does this make any sence in it being cheaper? it totally isnt!

Surely a typo in each but...........

option 1

Cost of buying parts seperately - £769.85 +VAT (£904.57 Inc. VAT)

This bundle is saving you - £79.90 +VAT (£93.88 Inc. VAT)

Price: £779.85 (£916.32 Including VAT at 17.5%)
ok wheres the saving?

option 2

Cost of buying parts seperately - £827.80 +VAT (£972.67 Inc. VAT)

This bundle is saving you - £87.85 +VAT (£103.22 Inc. VAT)

Price: £837.80 (£984.41 Including VAT at 17.5%)
again no saving

option 3

Cost of buying parts seperately - £897.80 +VAT (£1054.92 Inc. VAT)

This bundle is saving you - £97.85 +VAT (£114.97 Inc. VAT)

Price: £907.80 (£1,066.67 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Again I cant understand as buying seperately seems to be cheaper for some reason ;)

They were much cheaper a few hours ago..But the whole of the x1900 range has gone up in price in the last few hours.

ah well something has been changed then obviously! I guess they'll be changing the prices accordingly so it does look like a saving because if you look at each item and add them up you save ZERO! As it ammounts to the total price at the moment so anyone ordering now.....dont ;) until they get the price sorted

Hi there

It will be fixed in 10 mins. :)

Its because X1900's have gone up in price the system removed all the discounts in place on bundles, the discounts will be back online in a few mins. :)

Hi Gibbo,

I hope that combo deals can become a permanent fixture at OCUK (suppliers permitting!), those savings should be most welcome to those who are buying those parts. Great!

Thanks
Raja
