Saved a file and now I cant find it..

Ok so I was downloading two files to the desktop. Or so I thought.

Now I heard the "ping" indicating one of the downloads had finished, but I wasnt sure if the other one finished as well.

Now I had assumed I saved them to the desktop but now I cant find one of the files I downloaded. Had I pressed the cancel button thinking it was a "close" button?

Anyway, is there anyway to determine if IE partially saved the file to cache somwhere? I had a scour in the Temporary Internet Files folder but couldnt find anything.

Im not bothered about the file, Im just bothered that perhaps I may have saved it somewhere else and its taking up hard drive space.

downloaded some pron that you dont want anyone to find by mistake ?

go to the tools, options and look at where the download folder is set to
 
If you're using Vista or Windows 7 and providing you haven't altered the default, then you should find if you click the Start Button, then on the right hand side of the Start Panel click your name (should be at the top right) - this will open up a window with a number of folders such as Contacts Pictures etc., one of them will be called Downloads - look in there.
 
just download another file and name it Cavallino78 then do a search for it.
or have a look where its getting saved to when the box comes up
