Saving/Copying emails

How would I save my emails onto an external hard drive from MS Office Outlook, so when I have the new OS i can just copying them over and not lost them?

File > Import/Export > Export to a file > Personal Folder File (.pst)

As above but make sure to tick the box "include subfolders"
