I'm wanting to trade in my 360 elite for a new elite, there anyway of keeping my save games and DLC. I known there was an official data cable thing used for transferring stuff from one hard drive to another, but I wont have it because im trading it in. I've tried googling but all I've got is links from a while ago, and most just talked about that cable. Can you just use a USB stick or a portable HDD, or should I just start the games again? Lol

Cheers

Why don't you ask them if you can just keep the old drive and give them the brand new one as a trade in? Or are they different sizes?

You can copy all your saves to a memory stick if you wanted to do it another way, and then just re-download all your DLC.

i think the OP is trading from a 120gb elite to the new xbox 360 250gb, which it will be a different harddrive mounting. as said get hold of a USB drive of a decent size or you can download all your content again onto the new console. save files and such can easily be put onto a 1gb pendrive or something.
