Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

It will, but saving sessions are so rare and pay so little, I just thought what the heck, I'll help the grid more when it really needs it.

Also just realised it's 7-8pm tonight, so by starting earlier I've actually decreased my exports in that period, as I'd always started the battery dump at 7pm.

So as I never buy from the grid other than off peak, if I export more than usual during the 1 hour slot that counts?? By counts I mean the same as using less electricY

Yes, if you normally on average export 1kWh over that time and export at 5kW for the saving session hour, you'll be credited for 4kWh.

They look at the previous 7 days to get an average baseline, I believe.

Just signed up for it too.

Same in the east. I was signed up to axle but I’ve had zero sessions in the last month so I’ve ditched them off and participated in the Ocotpus sessions (still claimed the £25 referral bonus :p).

Saving session 6-7pm tonight. Not sure if its region dependent.

Might be a struggle as I export quite a bit then normally.

Hmm it came though the API on home assistant. I didn’t get an email though.

I spotted it’s not exporting so I guess it was a false alarm for us…

Anyone with Solaredge recieved an email yesterday about their partnership with Axle?

We've partnered with Axle Energy to give your SolarEdge battery a new way to earn. During brief grid stress periods, your battery exports power to the grid, then control returns to you immediately. Earn £1/kWh each time, with £10/month guaranteed.

I think the Axle price is an introductory offer and may well change, with GivEnergy it's even more generous as if you sign up for Axle you also get the new "GivEnergy Premium" subscription (that costs £4.99pm) for free as well, which is good as GivEnergy have basically just stuck half their features behind a paywall!

Did get me to just sign up though, so will see how it goes and how long the generous rate lasts, figure I can always cancel in the future.
