The accountant at my work has an excel file that gets various bits of data from different excel files and workbooks.

He has asked me how he can save a copy of the entire workbook with the values as they are now, so that he can keep back dated copies.

So basically he wants a copy that wont update when he changes the other workbooks which are referenced by this master copy.

If you have any idea what I am on about then I would appreciate it.

Select all the cells to be copied, then in the new sheet do a Paste Special and pick Values. That way you'll get the actual numbers rather than the formulae and references behind them.

As there are multiple (about 90) sheets in this workbook is there any way to just save the entire workbook with the values?

There are options in Excel to disable auomatic update of external links. I suggest you switch that off and then save it as a new copy. The values at that point in time will be saved and no update will occur.
