So I'm looking for a saving account that I cannot withdraw from until I reach a certain amount saved. Does anyone know of a bank or building society that can do this ;)

ok we need pics of future wife to be able to give you proper advice here.

Just find someone you hate and buy them a house. May as well cut out the middle man :D

If you open a Monzo bank account you can pay into a certain pot and withdraw only on a certain date? Could be an idea.
that could help. However we haven't set an amount to put in each month as we on a tight budget. So it will be as and when we can each month.

Yeah so on this, it also rounds stuff up when you buy it. Say somethings 9.54 you can pay 10 and put the 46p in. Only small I know, but stuff like that would add up after a year or so! :)

Don't you have any willpower? If I'm putting money in a savings account that is needed for a certain date, I never withdraw from it under any circumstances.

Put it in a 90 day notice account?

How much are you planning to save? Are people seriously still spending silly amounts on weddings. :p

Go to the money saving expert website and read what they have to say there, asking here for financial advice is like asking for medical advice i.e. don't.

Regular savings accounts offer pitifully small rates of interests if any, locking it up for a year or two will offer better returns but still not a lot

If you can't dip into your wedding account, you don't really want it that much. As in, other things are more important - and so they should be, spending loads of money on a Wedding is a rich mans game. A show of wealth, and nothing more.
