Saw 4

cleared a lot up, so saw 3 and 4, were running both at the same time, so no progress just another side of the story.

I saw it tonight and loved it. I think its the most hardcore film to watch though as a pretty good knowledge of 1-3 are required for anyone to fully enjoy it. I thought it was great how it all linked together though and the ending couldn't of been any better!

The only criticism I can think of is casting two very similar looking characters as law enforcement people.

All in all though 8/10.

This isn't a flame so don't jump on this post.

I've seen 1 & 2 and to be honest I've no desire to see the other two. I understood the storyline but to me the series seems just to be an excuse to showcase lots of gratuitously violent ways to kill people. Am I missing some underlying meaning to the plot or do other people think the same as me?

I think seeing Saw 4 in a lot of ways might give you a different perspective! It goes quite a way in explaining what turned him into the serial killer he is today and why he does what he does (his justification behind it etc).

edit: Although yes being a modern horror film technically yes it does push the limit, but for a lot of people thats part of the charm.

I agree with you completely in regards to the 3rd film, the 4th however while still overly violent in some cases has a much richer story than that of the 3rd and helps understand the story a lot more.

SPOILERS

After seeing the film I think I should rewatch #3 and then see #4 again when its on DVD to place the timeline 100%, was it only the autopsy part that was out of sync with all the rest following the same timeline as #3?

Not actually seen the film yet, but a mate at work seen it last night and could'nt stop raving on about it this morning. He did say that I should watch 3 to 'refresh' my mind before watching the 4th film.

Just been reading through Tobin Bells (Jigsaw) wikipedia page and it says hes signed to do 5 Saw films so expect a Saw 5 next year ;)

Went to see this one friday and at no point did i even have a clue it was running at *** same time as 3, the end threw me and the gf massively because of this, i see now what happended but it was really hard to follow, just a massive gore fest.
