Okay... I am trying to get my SB Live! Working with my CS1x & Cubase VST/32.

I've got the LiveDriveII (Non-IR, has the standard sized DIN prots for MIDI, ot the small ones), and also a Gameport-->MIDI In+Out cable

Will either work? Will they **** as like...

Anyone got any pointers?

I've been through what I can see, and set everything to use the Gameport (I have a suspicion about the Cables from the LiveDriveII So I am replacing those tomorrow)

Please help, before I chuck the lot from my 3rd floor window...

I have live and it works fine with Cubase -

Dont use game port midi - stick with livedrive.... unistall and reinstall drivers.

Make sure you got right midi in and outs selected in Cubase - check if you got correct asio drivers installed too.

Uninstalled a few times now...

What ASIO drivers should I be using.. think I'm on the DirectX ones.

where do I check the Ports are enabled, Been through what I can see, and set them to SB MIDI Port.

Replaced all of the cables, including the Gameport one (Will do for a backup if I get this lot going)

UART1 is the JOYSTICK PORT
UART2 is the Midi Port on't Frunt
There may be more?

Some Keyboards output the Midi data to a particular channel.

Your Software may be trying to onl;y reconrd on one channel.

Maybe perhaps they are not the same?

Keyboard sending out data for channel 2 and you are recording channel 1 perhaps?

Just a thought?

So, make sure that the Keyboard is sending ALL its MidiData and not just the data for one channel.

Alternatively, ditch the PC altogether and get yourself a good old Atari ST and forget about any problems like this.

Am now ditching the PC for MIDI, and going back to an Atari ST setup...
Yep, a 15 year old Computer is better, much much better.

I'll keep the PC for Sample based stuff...

Thats the idea mate.

The PC may be quicker at coding, it may be prettier with all the colours etc, btu when it boils down to it, its no quicker at composing music, and you dont need colours to listen do you?
