SC Chaos Theory ~ Safe to install?

Sorry but removing a program from your computer is not illegal I know the tools you refer to and they're not illegal as all they do is remove the starforce crap that it installs. And it's about time that star-force offer a way to download a tool and remove it.

What is most annoying is that the games dont warn you theyre going to install programs that may damage your pc I think on the back of all boxes should be the protection they use and the possible implications that it may have on your PC and there should always be an easy way to remove the protection from your PC (hell the protection should from the media instead of installing crap on your PC).

All IMHO

Removing Starforce isn't illegal. Altering the game executable so it stops checking for Starforce is.

Also, as for mentioning copy protection on boxes... I know my copy of Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones had a thing on the box about it using copy protection that might cause problems with virtual drives and some other stuff, so perhaps you are getting your wish to some extent...

I actually like the steam system HL2/CSS uses far better. OK, it may be a bit cumbersome and inconvenient but at least it doesn't install anything as drastic as drivers onto the system, which has the potential to cause system instability. Fair enough if a game doesn't run or just crashes, but when it starts causing system instability (even if theres a 5% chance of it happening), thats a step too far in my opinion.

In any case I got the game working and its running sweet. Its a shame though you can't run HDR and anti-aliasing together. Arn't x1000 series cards capable of doing this?

The software is not, why I linked it.

But some of the SITES that host the file are on dodgey ground and full of cracks, why I posted the link myself to save searches pulling up warez sites.

Nothing illegal about that tool and I have never said that tool is, my gripe is with the sites that were linked or suggested to host it. :)

We're not supposed to be talking about cracks at all as far as I am aware, so just drop it and let it be.
