It looks more action orientated, using some funky new system where you place markers on enemies and/or objects and then execute it using some auto-aim system. I'm not sure if thats a good thing. It might work. Its hard to tell until we get to play it.

PS3 owner?

Nothing to do with the exclusitivity. From the videos Ive seen so far the gameplay looks ridiculous. They obviously delayed it after the success of Asassins Creed and copied much of the engine and gameplay mechanics - who needs skill to aim a gun anymore, now at the pres of a button you can headshot an enemy!

Not to mention the stuff you can get away with without the enemy noticing, its as if the AI has gone backwards, perhaps even worse than the first game.

Perhaps it will be a good game, however Chaos theory was one of my top 3 Xbox games and it looks like conviction wont follow suit and is changing sam's image too much.

I've never, ever enjoyed a SC game, do i need to seek counselling? This game however does look interesting, i like the fact it's more action orientated, he still doesn't hold a patch on Snake though! :p

Oh and, never believe retailer release dates. I remember when i preordered Final Fantasy XII a day before the retailers 'release date'. A year and a half later i received the game.

Splinter Cell is well intense, well it was anyway, the latest one lost it's charm. The original on the Xbox 1 though was amazing back in the day, I remember being in awe over the lighting effects. Chaos Theory is swell as well.

Loved Chaos Theory best of the lot IMO, this one looks less like a splinter cell game and looks like its taking ideas from rainbow six and AC. Its certainly been taken in a different direction to previous SC games but then again so did MGS4 and look how that turned out. Games some times need a change as this stops them getting stale and the tried and tested gameplay getting boring, this looks like its going to be great even if its not the SC we all know.

In the Ubi soft thing today they announced that SPlinter Cell has been delayed till Q4 of this finnacial year starting Jan 2010:( I guess its to give more time on the secret PS3 version :D
