Me
Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. Yes, is still for sale - please let me know if you are interested?

Scamming Scum
Hello thanks for your response, I'll be offering you £50 for the postage cost via Royal Mail International Signed for to someone close to my heart who is on a research tour in West Africa ,i want to send it as sign of appreciation present...I would have loved to handle it myself but unfortunately I'm presently in Sydney Australia with my boss on a business trip, so I'll really appreciate you to help me ship it directly to the person. Send me a PayPal request of the total cost of the item plus the postage cost and I'll make the payment asap.

His reply has come from "[email protected]"..... Overclockers detectives / suggestions as to what to do please!

Obviously i've reported it to Gumtree already.

I've posted this in GD.... it's actually thrilling compared to:

Red Kola

best tuna accomponiment

tarmacing

Cold Call from "Microsoft" Tech...

What exactly is the same here?
Do they not make the paypal payment?
Do they make it and claim the item never arrived?
Do they seek your paypal details?

Surely if you don't send until after you've received payment, then job done, take money don't send item, scammer loses out?

nope because they pay on stolen cards, and can freeze payment via dispute. it really not worth the hassle, in future adverts put a not stating you will only post within the UK tends to put off a lot of scammers

This happens on a regular basis when i sell stuff on Gumtree.

Just forget about it.

This.

Also make sure you put on your ad in big letters that u will not send the item anywhere...collection only...works for me and ive sold tonnes of stuff on gumtree.

why not actually post him something that will wind him up, if your selling a phone, send him one of those cheap plastic toy phones. you know the ones they give to babies and toddlers
