Scanner?

Hi there,

The Epson Perfection 3490 is suppose to be quite good. It is on the PC Pro magazine's A-List. This is their review verdict from January 2006: "What more could you want? Superb image quality, amazing speed and a low price mean the 3490 beats all-comers"

I've been using the Epson Perfection 4490 for a couple of months and no problems so far.

Just finished setting up the scanner (Epson 3490) and its really great. Really pleased with the image quality.

I only installed the driver (EpsonScan?). Is it worth installing any of the other Epson software - I know there is a few.

Regards,

No except maybe Abbyy FineReader if you want to scan lots of text. It picks out the text from a jpg file so you can copy & paste it into other apps and don't bother scanning at higher than 2400dpi as the file size will be mental.
