Scary games

Hi,

Back in the PS2 days many moons ago i used to play silent hill which scared the crap out of me at the time. Are there any recent PC games which are scary ? Love a good horror game.

Simply put, no.

Amnesia is not very scary, but it's a good game anyhow.

I think the last game that scared me/ made me jump a lot was AVP2. The one from ~2000, not the recent one.

System Shock 2 of course, if you haven't played it. That is genuinely terror inducing

The first F.E.A.R still ****s me up.

I'm pretty sure some people in this thread would be scared by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

F.E.A.R. scary? Boring as hell, yes, but not scary

Condemned game are pretty scary, and are actually good games. I remember playing Condemned: Criminal Origins.

I am always amazed when I come into threads like this and see the FEAR games mentioned. There are a few really pathetic jump scares, unscripted ghostly apparitions and objects moving around which I usually missed because I was LOOKING THE WRONG WAY.

On my list of scary games Fear comes somewhere under Ravenholm from HL2 and that's pretty far down.

Amnesia
Outlast (little blunt but good)
Penumbra
Cry of Fear (mod)
Condemned
Dead Space 1, mainly atmosphere (hur hur)
Stalker Series has its moments, again mainly atmosphere

Those are the only vaguely modern games I would look at really, horror hasn't been very popular over the last 10 or so years.

Outlast has to be the scariest game I have played ever ! Play it in a dark room with a headset on with your back to the Door late at night a lone in your home Your have the lights on in 10 mins trust me Ha Ha. And this is coming from a 30 year old man.
