yes i know its just movies but i found a lot to be obsure movies that i've never watched or seen mainly the black & white ones which there seems to be plenty of, seems to follow same structure of one black & white movie that you never heard of then later in the round one that was really popular and well known. Didn't really like the rounds either, and all seemed abit rushed to choose your question before time ran out.

The movies are obscure.
It's the old adage that they're only obscure if you've not seen them.
It would be boring if I'd seen all the films they asked questions about. When I played with my folks they were quite anxious it would be all newer films but were overjoyed when there was a couple of films/questions my wife and I had never even heard of.
I think there's a nice balance that there are as many questions I have to guess at as know straight away.

Sounds just like the board game version that's been around for a while. I kick butt playing that game so much so that my sister and me are not allowed on the same team

The board games are good so might pick this up at some point.Movies are movies, it covers different genres, ranges and years. You can't say it's obscure because you don't know the answer.
You wouldn't go to a pub quiz and when you don't get a couple of answers in a row you wouldn't stand up and shout "This quiz is obscure!" as a negative comment on the quiz.
It's a challenge, that's the purpose of the game.
Have to agree, the movies aren't obscure they are just varied. If you simply want questions on films from the past 12 months, look elsewhere. If you want questions on a number of popular and not so popular movies from the past 4 decades, which are a bit of a challenge and introduce you to new movies you may not have come across before then fire it up.
