How does the Z68A-D3H-GEN3 compare against the Z68AP-D3?

I was opting for the later but if the GEN3 mobo is better I will get it.

No UEFI BIOS - after the first few days of setup/tinkering, I haven't touched the BIOS again, so no big deal. Is using arrow keys really that hard?

UEFI gives a bit more than that, for example you will not be able to use the Windows 8 boot device menu (you would have to use the BIOS based one which MS are trying to get away from).

Then theres other small difference I imagine such as the number of VRM phases and the quality of the PCB/components due to the "ultra durable3"

Just need to find some other stuff to di noc so there's more carbon. Case doesn't arrive till next week but a £20 I'm not going to complain.

I was thinking of upgrading to the Asrock 4 gen 3 but im unsure of asrock and i now really like the look of the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-GEN3 especially the black theme! Not interested in crossfire or sli just want an i5 i could OC to 4.5ghz and also have two 6gbps sata III ports for my two SSD's and another couple of 3 gbps ports for my dvd and mechnical drives.

Would this be a good choice coming from an AMD setup?

It would be but why not wait for ivy bridge and the new Z77 boards.

To be honest im not really that interested in IB, i think an i5 OC to about 4.5ghz will be more than enough for the general gaming i do
