Scotlands DUI limit reduction-Consequences?

Those previously law abiding people will just keep it in check for the new limit though. It isn't great having different limits mike's from each other ill give you that.

It's probably more likely to catch people unaware the next day, but if it means more are e tea cautious it isn't doing any harm.

What I find particularly interesting is the core attitude to certain individuals who will happily have a "few" (I don't mean the 1 or 2 you mention elsewhere) pints in Europe then drive, knowing they won't lose their UK license. Unfortunately I know a few, cant get my head around it

a lot of the pub owners are saying that business has been hit. mostly because people aren't taking the risk the morning after so don't bother going out on the lash at all. i know from the past i have been out all night drinking and its well into the afternoon the next day that i could legally drive. a lot of people just aren't bothering any more.

3 hours of no driving per pint. That includes the time taken to drink the pint if you are drinking it at a constant rate over time and not necking it right at the end. 1 pint over 30 mins then 2.5 hours later will have no trace. 10 pints over 6 hours then definitely no driving in the morning (not that I ever get remotely near that much).

As an ex-Drink Driver, blotto on 15 pints and many shorts with 40 mins of driving to go... When D/D was acceptable by the Irish Police. Looking back I was lucky I didn't cause crashes. Should any Drink Driving be allowed? There are so many options now Taxi/Hackney/Uber/Hailo/Rail/Bus/Trams/Drinks in a friend's, drink at home.

Again, I'm not defending drink driving, but in the rural area I live, there are no hackney casb, uber, bus, trams etc. and the option of drinking at a friends or home has always been available, even when DUI was more acceptable.

I wont touch a drop then drive. I can handle a good session as much as the next guy, but one pint can affect me somedays and not on others. I guess it depends on how tired I am or how much I've eaten. Its not worth the risk to me, even if I did blow under, I'd still hate myself if I hit someone knowing I'd had a pint.

Most of the "older generation" living in the farming areas near me are consistently pished on the way back from the pub. I doubt a change of law would change anything for them. Practice makes perfect after all!
( i don't condone drink driving)
