Am I being too harsh?

Thinking of leaving them because I've been with them for 1 quarter and in that time my monthly payment has gone up about 40-50%. It has been a bit colder so i was expecting it to go up but it went to the highest I've ever paid.

I've had solar panels fitted - took over 2 months to get a FIT number and now it will take another 6 weeks to get my payment!!

Eon had much better customer service so I'm thinking of going back there as they were very prompt with any issues and they also hadn't gotten rid of the 01 number which is free on mobile! Never had a house phone and suspect many are the same so they're putting in 'free' 0800 numbers.

So i refer you to my question above.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Within 12 months they tried to increase my direct debit 5 times - once by over £200 per month. On three of these occassions they refused to reduce it and I had to cancel the direct debit before I got any sense out of them!

Online system is very poor too, finally left them in late October, took them until early Feb to produce a final bill because they were doing system upgrades!

Would never go back to them - regardless of how cheap they were.

Snap we recently left Scottish power due to constant increases in our direct debit despite having a hefty credit on the account

They cant be any worse then First Utility , they are the worst company in the world

Is there any good energy providers out there?

When I moved into my new-build flat, it took them over a year just to admit they were providing me with gas and electric...

Thanks for confirming guys. Looks like I'll be looking into going back to Eon before Scottish Power cost me any more...

Same reason I left NPower - inept idiots. Getting through these energy suppliers... Lol.

Might end up with no gas and everything electric running off solar panels...

Need to price up a storage device like battery cells for electric cars....

Any recommendations? ;)

I am with Npower and they doubled my DD - rang them and they couldn't refund so I dropped direct debit rate to recover overpayment in 4 month's.

I do a meter reading every Monday and put it on their web site - I can see each week what they are up to.

Just waiting till April and I get a bill to see how much in credit I am.

Gotta watch em.

Dave

yeah, I take a meter reading every few weeks and input it to make sure I am not surprised. Trouble is with leaving they take so long to do anything i'll be expecting a big bill months after!

Trouble is the grass isn't always greener!

I used to be with Eon, only for 2 months when I moved in but if I needed to phone them they always answered their phones

I left Scottish power to go with Eon after my bills kept going up. About 2 months after leaving, SP sent me two rebate cheques, one for £270, and then another for £160.

I don't understand how every energy company can be so incompetent and useless, and get away with it

Agreed! Surely they have to be breaking some laws to get away with it!?

Technically I break some laws if i don't get a reasonable answer promptly - i cancel the direct debit to force them to chase me as they are legally not allowed to cancel gas/electric.

A mate is with Eon and he said he was going to go to Scottish Power because it was cheaper. I told him to stay with Eon!
