Hi

My Thundercat came with a Scottoiler fitted and drip tube is positioned just in front of the rear sprocket to drip on to the bottom run of the chain.

I've been told that this is wrong and the oil should drip on the rear sprocket.

For some reason the Scottoiler website isn't working properly on my phone so can someone confirm if this is correct?

Thanks

It should be dripping oil onto the face of the sprocket, which then gets flung out and into the chain (i.e. the plastic nozzle should be lightly touching the sprocket) . The dispenser nozzle should be at about 6 o-clock as .one. says, or a little further back.

Doesn't that method only lubricate on side of the chain? Leaving the other o-rings non lubricated?

I bought a cheapo version (non official) for my 748 a year or so back, the single sided swing arm got the better of me so never got to really test it as I couldn't get it to fit properly.

But even that had 2 'prongs' that ran along the sprocket either side lubrication both sides of the chain.

Yeah the "scottoiler dual injector" gives a nozzle either side to keep better lubrication on the o-rings.
