So, how would one go about creating such a thing to have on toast for breakfast? I've learned a few tricks in the kitchen recently but eggs have always baffled me.

easy 3 eggs 1/4 pint of milk stir the mix around for 30 secs
salt n peper micro wave for 3 mins
stir then micro wave again for 1 min
bingo scrambled eggs

That easy eh? I thought there was a frying pan involved at some point though? Seen people make them before but never paid attention.

Heat some butter in pot.

Crack eggs into pot.

Stir about a bit until it is solid but not dry (!!!)

Serve with toast.

Oh and don't cook it in the microwave, its horrid

Microwave??? are you sick or something? they should be banned, awful inventions that ruin food.

I just use butter and eggs, keep putting it on and off the heat stirring away vigorously (will keep cooking whilst it's off the heat).

no the harder way is to but the same mix in to a pan then heat it up on the cooker
and make sure you keep stiring the mix otherwise burnt mix on the bottom of the pan
no frying involed what so ever :)

Quoted for the truth, + salt & pepper

in a jug whisk up your eggs, add salt and pepper to taste
heat up some butter in a milk pan (or similar)
add whisked eggs to hot melty butter and stir with a wooden spoon
when it looks like its sticking keep moving it around - thus 'scrambling' your eggs
add cream if you want a more luxury version :)

...and enjoy

so many versions and such a similar result

Couple or three eggs, dash of milk, knob of butter, salt 'n pepper, whisk it, cook over lowish heat until nicely thickened stirring continuously. none of this microwave student laziness. ;)

add butter to pan, heat till melted. Crack 3 eggs in and stir well with a fork, chucking in salt and pepper. Keep mixing until cooked.

Adding milk will make it creamier and lighter but remove some taste

lol not a student but i like mine that way

I just put 1 egg in a cup mix it about with a fork and put it in the microwave, anything else is too much mess or hassle :o

Someone once told me that adding milk to scrambled eggs isnt actually that good for it, and just makes it rubbery. You're better off adding water to keep it moist.

I go for the easy option; whisk a couple eggs, add a bit of water, salt'n'pepper, microwave for however long it takes whilst stopping to mix a few times. Add a bit of buttery toast and you're all set. Done in 5 minutes.

To me scrambled eggs is a quick'n'easy dish. If you were gonna mess about frying stuff then you may as well have fried eggs!!

Good stuff, thanks guys. Basically chuck some eggs in a pan with recently heated butter in and thrash it about with a wooden spoon until it looks ok, right? Adding salt, pepper, milk/cream etc if I see fit.

Exactly spot on.
use a low to medium heat..

Once you get use to doing it. The trick is to turn the heat of just before it's fully cooked. Thus the heat remaining in the pan cooks the egg but doesn't over cook it. But that's advance techniques.. LOL

Knob of butter (about the size of a wallnut) 6 eggs mixed with a fork. Melt butter on a medium heat, add eggs and stir.

Just before the eggs are fully cooked add a little milk (preferably room temperature) and take off the heat. This is to stop the cooking process from drying out the eggs.

Edit: Snap :p

Never had salt & pepper and always cooked in the microwave. It takes like a minute to eat a bowl of them anyhow, so spending ages preparing them seems a bit strenuous.
