Scrap build problems

Hi I put a HDD and some ram into my boss's old build at work but when windows installed nothing worked. Everytime I ran a program it would crash, also a plugin and play mouse wouldnt recognise. Any ideas how I can fix this? If I have to play COD4 on this ****ty laptop again am going to be very upset!

Have you run CPU/RAM/HDD diagnostics?

Also try the usual, run chkdsk, try a defrag etc
