Anyone know a place I can get hold of all series of Scrapheap challenge and Junkyard Wars?

I have been watching them recently on 4OD, but they don't have season 1 or 3 and it only goes up to season 5. I think there are 11 seasons before Robert llewellyn and Lisa Rogers left the show. Not interested in any after that as Robert made the show tbh.

Also wouldn't mind checking out Junkyard wars (the American version). I'm only interested in the ones that Cathy Rogers co presented though as an all American show would be too much.

Such an epic show, I am surprised its not fully available on 4od :(.

Also feel free to discuss this fine show :D.

Yes, it was great. I enjoy it as much now as I did when I was much younger. I also agree, re Robert Llewellyn, he's a genuinely funny bloke and was fantastically funny on the show.

There was just so much incredibly ability on that show, how on Earth some of those contraptions were built just blows my mind.

Watching it now, I cant imagine a show like this ever being allowed now with all the health and safety rules we have. Some of the stuff looked very dodgy :D.

Favourite so far would have to be the big wrecking claw they made to demolish brick walls on an old power station. That thing was amazing for 10 hours build. The canons were also pretty awesome.

Nearly at the end of season 5 and that's where they stop on 4od :(. Hoping I can source the others as I am totally addicted to this show. Can't believe there is no boxset or anything.

The demolition one was also my favourite. Its a shame the brute force ran out, that hydraulic brick muncher was awesome!

one of my favourite shows, still watch them on Sundays (Dave I think?). I saw a tweet from Llewellyn a little while ago reminiscing about the show, sadly he said he would never return as he had been there and done that. Don't know where you might get the series though I'm afraid. The episode most memorable for me was when they built the planes in the US - French, British and US teams I think? Gonna see if I can find a youtube vid now...

Good old Scrapheap!

Anyone remember Scrappy Races... I think thats what its called?

A selection of the best teams got together and built something that had to last over so many episodes. Brilliant that was lol! My favorite has to be the farmers as they were crazy lol.

Also seem to remember one team adding a huge cutting saw and felling a tree, did an amazing job even if it was built from scrap!

Best Episode ever was the Rocket Sled/Train one!...

Building a Pulse Jet engine from Scrap and getting the record for the fasted piece of Junk in the programs history... Plus the Sound was EPIC! :)

Propa Job!

Loved the cut and shut taxi with 2 engines, 2 fronts and 2 steering linkages those northerners had!

LOL soon as I read Propa Job! I rememberd their names. The Barley Pickers!.

The double-ended taxi was brilliant. I have the entire season run of that programme, gonna go hunting later and put it on :)

Jobs a good 'un

Remember when they started fudging around with that tractor/lorry gearbox - mentalists!

The American show had nothing on the Llewellyn headed programme, though Dick Straw wasnt that bad neither.

Do you mean that mad yellow lorry/tractor thing they built? Andy fiddled with some diddly screw which sent it off revving into oblivion lol!

Yep thats the one - IIRC to get it to go faster (lorry motor on a tractor or something) but had no idea what they were doing and how small the changes needed to be. Been years since Ive seen it, but as you can tell it made quite the impression. Damn I wanna buy it now too :(

Truly gods of their art and to boot the vast majority of those teams were the salt of the earth too. Some of those 2 days builds were mental...

Surely the best Scrapheap moment is the Barley Pickers' car trebuchet destroying itself.

That would have been truly epic if it had worked, It would have gone miles :D.

You don't happen to know what episode and season it was from do you?

15 Jun 2011 – Series 5 Episode 12 Car Flinger. Scrapheap's Series 5 grand final saw the Barley Pickers line up against last year's winners

It's a shame the last series they did (roadshow-style with multiple teams per show building a specific thing at home) wasn't aired properly, or even in full, in this country yet!

Because cloudy from this forum was on there with a radio controlled car - absolutely brilliant bit of engineering, made in his garage at home!

I'd like to get hold of all of the series too, if they're available somewhere!
