It needn't be anything unusual. Could just be down to the usual wear and tear of the brakes or the loss of an anti-rattle clip or something.

300 miles later, it has stopped. However, car is booked in for next week and no long journeys planned until then.

I got a stone caught in between my disc and guard last week, as soon as I undone the wheel bolts it was free and noise gone. All the same get it looked at

It's a good idea to still get it looked at, but I'm glad the noise has gone.

I don't know where all of the other suggestions came from as nothing looks particularly amiss in all of the pictures you put up, but pictures can be misleading and there's nothing finer than getting someone that knows what they're talking about to cast an eye over it
