I don't get it... So the government are trying to make more people scrap older cars? So people are potentially scrapping vehicle that otherwise would have been kept on the road? Surely that's not very green? How much polution/waste is generated from the production of a new car?
My car (I've owned for 15yrs) is worth less than £2000. My GFs car is worth less than £2000. My mother car (owned for 12+ yrs) is worth less than £2000. Why would it make sense to try and get any of these cars scrapped when they're perfectly drivable/good vehicles.
