got a 14cm vertical scratch on my windscreen its not really visible on the outside unless u know its there. On the inside u notice it tho, it's in the drivers view area(steering wheel mot area). Now if i claim of insurance will they replace it or repair it? got a £70 excess:(

Anyone had their windscreen scratches repaired or windscreen replaced?

brick it, then it will be replaced no question :p

on second thoughts, it looks like you don't want it to be replaced? Afaik the repairs are only for chips not scratches, they suck anyway.

I have the same issue, however on brand new windscreen, dont want to crack it and claim again so will try to polish it out, any ideas on good polishes or techniques guys?

What's the deal with windscreen replacement services.

If you call your insurance, does the repair/replacement guy come out in the van with your glass, then decides on the spot if you need a new one or not..? Along with new seals?

they ask if its a crack or a chip, if its a crack they say they will order a screen, then come and fit it.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but didnt want to make a new one,

I recently had my screen replaced but now it has been scratched right in my line of sight by a football i.e big circle full of deep scratches.

I suppose my main question would be would it affect my no claims bonus if I were to get it replaced and/or would glass repairers be able to do anything with scratches?

Thanks
James
