screeching noise when playing nfs pro street on pc

ok i applied the patch and now the game doesnt work.
keep getting nfs.exe encountered a problem and needs to close.

Indeed. Just thought i'd slip in here and have a dig at EA, I love to hate them.

(besides, i just tried FIFA 08 after i heard a few people say it was better than the new PES and its god awful)

If you've downloaded the game that's where your problem probably is.

You've put the patch on, the patch replaces the old EXE with an uncracked one.

mabie you guy wont remember but it the same type of noise that you got on the really old athlon mobo's (the first socket a)when the chipset was going.

Are you sure this noise isn't comming from the small speaker inside your case?

my sound come's from 2 large speakers (8 inch woffers 3 inch mid range and dome tweeters connected to a yamaha amp) and its so loud that i can feel it so it cant be that.
ok never mind guys im gonna ditch this game now.

Are you using onboard sound? If you are then it's probably been caused by electrical noise (such as the graphics card pulling a lot of power). I used to get it really badly on an older motherboard, sticking in a sound card will fix it.

I'd put good money on it that your downloaded version is corrupt and/or been tampered with.

Its the fan belt, either replace it or put a bit of fairy liquid on it until you can get it sorted

On a serious note, I am sure a friend had this issue. I will contact him and ask.

Have you tried turning the sound effects/music off in the menu one at a time to see if that sorts it?
