Hi,

I currently have a Samsung T220HD screen but thinking of getting a wall mountable 26" to replace it. It's in my 'game' room and Im sat prob just under 2m from the screen.

Anyone able to offer advice on a good screen with 1080p support?

Thanks.

When you say 26" do you mean a monitor? I would say a 32/37" TV would get you more for your money.

Anything less than 40" and you're not going to reap the benefits of full 1080p

Loads of people will recommend Samsung LCDs or Panasonic Plasmas at the moment

Ahh ok cheers guys maybe i'll just stick with my T220HD for another year although there is a Benq i think E2400HD on the market that seems to reaping much praise from gamers and at £180 might not be to bad you think it would be worth it going from 22" to 24"?

In a word no. Personally just save the cash and go for min 32. I personaly have a Samsung LCD 37" and its awesome and as above people have said can be had v cheap now

I'd go for a bigger screen anytime but the problem I have is viewing distance im probably around 1.5m from the screen if that and cant move further back due to wall and the 'game' room being in the 'box' room. Would it not look worse on bigger screen due to my close viewing distance or is a 32" ok to use when seated about 1.5m from it?

Appreciate the help offered.

It depends what you value, quantity over quality.

I personally play on a 1080P 24" monitor, and it's incredible clear and crisp. However If I had the money I'd prefer a 720P 37" TV just because you feel so much more immersed and it's a more cinematic experience overall. Even if the picture is a bit more blocky & blurry.

Peeps I've purchased a Samsung P2450H in the end and although it's all very nice I just cant help but think my Samsung T220HD looked better so I'm wondering if you know of any online screen calibration sites or what the best settings are if anyone out there has this panel. Dont get me wrong its looks good but I think it could look better.

In terms of qulaity I've not seen a smaller screen running at 1080p look better than my Panasonic Viera TH42PX70B at 720p - can probably be had very cheaply now - I view from about 1.5 - 2m. I think a 37" version would be fine at 1.5m.

I'd have like to have gone for a bigger screen but just couldnt afford the difference. P2450H cost £190 the 32" I was looking at for full HD were about £350 for branded make.

24 or 26 inch is too small a screen sitting at 2 meters away.

Either sit closer or you'll need a bigger set to gain the advantage of 1080p
