Interesting one for you.

We have some laptops donated to us, when you turn them on you get the old acceptable use policy which you have to agree to before you get the screen that you choose which user you want to log on as. ( these are stand alone xp laptops ) is there a way of getting rid of the AUP and just going to the log in screen?

There is nothing in local group policy under computer configuration>windows settings> security settings>local policies>security options>interactive logon

Cheers

open regedit,

HKLM\software\microsoft\windows NT\current version\winlogon

delete legalnoticetext and legalnoticecaption - assuming they exist. :p

You my friend are a star.

Thats worked and idea how to get rid of the wallpaper now.

As what happens is computer turns on yet the rubbish wall paper that used to be displayed when the legalnotice text was displayed for about 3 seconds then the log in screen appears?
