Hi

Not entirely sure if i should be posting here or the home cinema sub forum.

I have a Panasonic plasma 42" TV and it been good with minimal problems. I recently noticed that the top right corner has a image burned onto it. I suspect that it been sitting on one tv channel for too long and the logo is burned in the pixel area.

I take it there nothing i can do and i doubt warranty would cover it.

what are my options? Any advise would be appreciated.

Is there an option in the control panel to set the sceen to whitewash it?

Not entirely sure if you can rid screen burn though.

I thought it was called persuasion or something like that on a plasma or LCD and was only temporary

with the newer panasonic plasmas at least, they can talk you over the phone to do it, it basicly flashes the screen and burns the burn out if that makes sense. a lot of manufactors have the option in the menu but panasonic decided not to as if you do it too often it kills your screen so there is a sneaky way to do it, depending on the age of the tv

Was hoping there was a hidden option for this. I checked the menu and could not see a option for this. Any hints on this sneaky way? the TV probably a couple years old.

Either let it fade away on its own (and normally it will over time).. or if your in a hurry, pick an unused analog tv channel, and leave it displaying snow overnight. The randomness of the snow pattern is great for erasing mild burns, without reducing the halflife of the screen to much.
