How do you record the activity on your screen ie, how can I easily rip a certain section of a DVD without doing the whole lot?

I want to just record parts of it for personal use.

(yes you've guessed it, I am boob compilation of sarah beenie)...:D

I use a mac.

Although I've just realised I need sound too....and none seem to do it! Argh! I am suprised it is so hard.

I can boot into windows, is it easier there?

I just downloaded and installed it, but it doesn't seem to. Its backup the whole disc or nothing....

Select 'Re-Author'
Then drag the main movie across and right click it to define the start and end frames. Job done :-)

Yeah, using something like DVD Shrink to copy directly will be the easiest way. Screen capture will give poorer results as it may well drop some of the frames, and the PC will probably play the DVD in some kind of direct hardware overlay mode which means that the video won't show up on a screen capture anyway.

Fraps, then use something like Sony Vegas, or windows movie maker to make it smaller.

I use sony vegas to make videos for my phone all the time, just use mp4 format. I've ripped scenes from all sorts of movies and scrubs seasons :D

ask in the mac forum

all my mates with mac's ask me to do things like this for them on my pc, but then they are noobs :)
