What do you guys use for desktop screen capture? I want to enter the Nvidia comp (again ) but have no idea what a decent screen capture thing is to use.

Just for the desktop? Download an use OBS set to monitor recording.

Just go into settings and up that bit rate to at least 50Mb for it to be somewhat usable.

That means you've not selected the right device to capture from. If you want to record the desktop you want to select Monitor Capture. You can add more sources by simply right clicking in that box area and clicking add.

For a more indepth look at OBS this chap is worth a watch.

Ah right, i was adding them into the global sources bit, sorted it thanks .

I use OBS with NVIDIA's NVENC encoder, really is the perfect combination. I can also record in Lossless format and fill up 2tb hard drive pretty quick if I'm not careful

Shadowplay is good too, especially when you don't have your recorder on and something fun happens
