Screen flickering on new samsung

Just bought a new tv and its a Samsung LE32R7 LCD.. and have noticed the following , when you are watching a really dark scene the tv screen seems to flicker a lot .
Is this normal ?
It goes away if I put the tv in to the highest energy saving mode but then makes the tv look dull.
Faulty ??

I don't have this TV but read about this the other day. Is worth giving the following a try...

If you switch your TV OFF using the remote, press INFO followed by MENU followed by MUTE then switch it back on again you will see the Service menu on screen, go to option 2 and find "DYNAMIC DIMMING". Then switch it to OFF.

Ok I just done this and will have a nose later and see if it is still flickering .

on that page dont suppose you know what the gamma one is meant to be set at as I think I just altered that by accident .

That has made the picture rock solid, thanks for the help with that, I was thinking of returning the tv but no need to now.
