Hey, whenever i'm in a game I see constant 'lines' horizontally across the whole screen; I think it may be a driver issue but i'm kinda worried about messing about with it now... how do I see what drivers I have/need? I downloaded the 14.4 drivers (I have a 280x) and then it... wanted me to download them again after installing them so I guess it didn't update, maybe I need to delete old ones first? any tips would be helpful!

Im running a 280x through a monitor cable to a 1080p screen.

Could be the GPU, try another just to make sure.. you could do the same with the monitor.

'Drivesweeper' is a program you can use to get rid of the ones you have installed..

1 question, how can you not now know the drivers you've installed, its pretty important stuff.

what kind of lines, are they clear wavy lines or is it solid lines hiding parts of the game

also can we have specs too :)

they're... straight lines moving up and down horizontally I think? I recorded some gameplay and it came out fine, so i'm not sure whats up. and sure!

i5 4670k, xfx 280x, z87-hd3 mobo, 8gb ram

thanks, I have no other gpu to try though - i hope its just a driver issue or this would be the second 280x i'd need to send back!

if its the same as I have then its not the GPU and happens all the time even in idle and seems to be harmless.
Also I have noticed it doesn't happen in HDMI. Have you tried a different output, if you have one available.

oh my god, I forgot about trying hdmi. it worked! I don't know if it should still be cause for concern in the future but its all good for now at least :) sorry for the dumb mistake; it's because hdmi didn't work on the gpu i RMA'd

I reckon its still the same if you go back off HDMI,
can I have your specs incase we have similarmobos/ CPUs or something?
in mine its definately not the GPU ( I tested a spare)
so I am looking into CPU perhaps as I have also replaced mobo.
