Screen preference when gaming.

Big TV + surround sound for me ta. I find i play better on a monitor as it's easier to focus on what's going on on the entire screen, but it isn't as fun.

I prefer bigger screens but I find it takes a while to adjust if you swap screen sizes.I went from a 32" to a 37" and it took a day or so to get used to it.

I don't need a massive screen, like I went from using a 19" monitor at a 37" LCD TV instead which was much better, but too big, so I bought a 32" instead which I find perfect. I generally prefer the TV setup due to how much more comfortable it is to play on, given that I'm on a sofa with my feet up and the surround sound system is on with a good sized display, as opposed to using a smaller display, a chair and worse sound.

I game on a 32" 720p HDTV. Would prefer a nice 24-27" 1080p though I think. The dot pitch on the TV is huge.

I don't know, I've got two 32" and 42" LG TVs (1360x768 and 1920x1080 respectively) and I prefer playing on the 32"er at the lower resolution, I imagine it's because most console games are 720p natively anyway, and with a much smaller screen (24-27") you'd probably just be sat closer anyway, that said I do sometimes play COD on a 24" screen just as I end up lurching forward towards the screen anyway.

Using the 360 with the VGA cable at 1360x768 looks great for games and I don't feel the need for any more resolution at 32", for movies though the 42" wins hands down for bluray lovelyness. :)

The thing is, I find my cheap £150 screen better to game on over my expensive £900 tv.

Visually i meant. A good quality TV makes the games look great. Going from my 19" Goodmans HDTV to my PX80 plasma, I don't notice half as much jaggies, colour is brilliant and overall just looks tons better.

Most likely because the 19" TV was 1360x768 and the PX80 plasma is 1024x768. Still looks 100% better on the plasma.

I think comparing a monitor sat at a couple of feet to the typical 40-50" TV in the livingroom at much further difference is the ISSUE. Yes its sometimes easier to concentrate and react as your closer to the display.

Youd need a projector to get the monitor effect in the livingroom or sit about 3-4 feet from your 42"
