Screen Protector on LCD?

I've honestly never felt the need.

My camera is a tool and is used as one.

Using it with common sense goes miles, I've taken over 30 thousand photos now and there isn't a mark on the screen, but then again I've never rested it on barbed wire :p

But, accidents can happen and if you scratch it one day you may be gutted! I have seen some really bad lcd's!!

I took my lcd cover off the 1d mk3 today, had a spec of dust behind it, was bugging me, got hair dryer out, and an old sat nav rubber suction mount, warmed it up, got it off, and got rocket blower on it, result :D

is this true?

Going forwards, I think the 5DII is the last Canon DSLR to feature replaceble rear LCD protectors. The 60D, 7D and 5DIII all feature the LCD being directly sealed into the back of the camera shell. Future repairs mean a whole LCD replacement...which is going to be costly.
