Screen protectors for KT

I recently got a Kindle Touch, I tried applying some screen protectors on it and they didn't get on very well at all. Lots of bubbles etc.

Is a screen protector really needed for a kindle or would just a soft cover for after use be a better idea?

I hate screen protectors, always use a pouch style case for my mobile devices to store in when not in use.

I hate screen protectors, haven't used one for 3 years and not had any problems so personally wouldn't bother.

Screen protector for tablets are pointless in my opinion, a phone sure as you are always putting in your pocket with keys etc and it will protect it from scratches ok, but it won't protect from damage from dropping or whatever. And by putting one on an ebook reader you are putting a glossy reflective cover over a screen designed not to be glossy and reflective for the best reading experience. Buy a sleeve instead.
