I need a new screen and wondered if you guys could help! Am unsure whether to go for a 24" or 22". What would people consider to be the best at those sizes? So far, I'm under the impression that the Dell 2407WFP-HC is one of the better 24" screens, though I'm put off slightly by talks of 'smearing'.

In the 22" arena, the Samsung 226BW appears to rule supreme, so long as you can get hold of an 'S' or 'A' panel. The HP W2207 looks pretty good, but one review I saw knocked it for its smearing too ().

I'm planning on using the screen for all purposes - gaming, browsing, working - though not generally for films.

A festive cheers to all you folks :)

Just last month I was in the same position.

I went for the 24" OcUK value, couldnt be more pleased with it, really fantastic screen.

Vast majority of the 24"'s between £400-500 are extremely similar, its just the dell can generally be found cheaper and people like the styling and the huge warranty.

The 22"'s generally provide less chance of smeer but at the expense of its colours. I wouldn't buy into the hype too much about the 226bw personally.

The 24" ocuk screen is proving very popular as it seems such great value. It'd be silly to be expecting a dell 24" beater but then what can you expect for half the money? :D

Ignore the smearing thing on the HP2207, not seen a hint of it matey. its a fantastic screen and I've still yet to see a better 22" for the price.
