Screen resolution query

Well, sort of a problem.

My wife and I have separate user accounts on XP, and while I like quite a high screen res, she prefers a lower one. But no matter what I try, XP won't let us have them different.

If I change to a high res, then when my wife logs on she gets a high res screen. She then changes it to a lower res, and when I log on I get the low res again. Everything else is fine - different shortcuts, wallpapers, taskbar setup etc etc, they're all unique to each user. But the res just will not stay fixed according to each users choice.

Any ideas how I make this work so we can have completely different resolutions on the different users?

I think Catalyst Control Center can do it?

Create two profiles, one for yourself one for your wife. Then have the high res profile auto load when you log in for you and the low res one for your wife.

I think. I have never tried it but i know you can get profiles to load on windows start. Trouble is that could mean it loads it before anyone logs on... which wouldnt help as you need one activated at logon. Still you can give it a go.

Not sure if its CCC or another app that does it. Maybe ATI Tray Tools. Dunno if there is an nVidia equiv.

Thanks Fanatic, but isn't the CCC for ATI cards only?

Don't think there's anything from nVidia that can do it, at least not that I've been able to find so far :(

Couldnt see what card you had in your sig :)

Blimey, well spotted mate - obviously I didn't check that very well when I typed it up!!

Thanks burnsey, I'll get the drivers and try them (got no connection just now though as I'm still wiring up the faceplates for the LAN in my new house.)

I'll try MultiRes too....

It's got to be possible!
